Title: Some Families, Very Large

Author: Jose “Butch” Dalisay

(Short Story)

When I read the story, at first, I found some parts funny because they seemed stupid to me. But then I realized that the events that took place weren’t funny at all. It saddened me, by the end of the story, because I knew what was going to happen to Sammy and his father after I read the last sentence.

Anyway, I like how the author described the setting. I also like how Sammy was portrayed because, even though it is hard to believe, a lot of children who belong to that socioeconomic class think that way.

For me, it is a good way to reflect about our society.
